How to be a Woman by Caitlin Moran

How to be a Woman by Caitlin Moran

‘We need to reclaim the word ‘feminism’. We need the word ‘feminism’ back real bad. When statistics come in saying that only 29% of American women would describe themselves as feminist – and only 42% of British women – I used to think, What do you think feminism IS, ladies? What part of ‘liberation for women’ is not for you?’

This is a book that every woman should read. I would particularly have liked access to a book along these lines when I was a teenager. Man, it really could’ve helped me.

It’s not brilliantly written by any means, and RANDOM CAPITAL LETTERS can be irritating, but to me it just came off as very passionate. It’s messy, honest, and complicated, and, well, very much like a woman. Perhaps that’s why I loved it so much. If you are female, read this. If you are male…well you could give it a shot!

I would just like to say, Dear Caitlin, I am a feminist. That is all.

Suitable for age 14+
